Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator / Inventory Specialist to support our production facility by managing raw material procurement, inventory control, and supplier coordination. This role is critical to ensuring adequate ingredient supply, cost-effective purchasing, and minimal material waste, while maintaining strict quality, food safety, and GMP standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain, procurement, inventory management, and vendor relations, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Order raw materials, packaging, and plant supplies to support production needs
Perform daily purchasing and inventory control functions to maintain accurate stock levels
Ensure sufficient ingredients and materials availability for uninterrupted production
Review inbound documentation, including purchase orders (POs), invoices, and receiving paperwork
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, inventory, and supplier performance
Resolve vendor performance issues and manage product non-conformance
Assist with sourcing and qualifying new suppliers

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role
Experience with supplier negotiation and vendor auditing
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Primarily an office-based role with occasional work in a warehouse or production environment
Exposure to conditions that may be cold, wet, or slippery
Physical activities may include:
- Standing, walking, and sitting
- Bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Repetitive motion, twisting, and use of stairs or ladders
