Salary: $17.00/HR + $1.25 premium

Grinder Job Summary: A Kentwood automotive supplier is looking for grinder operators to join their growing team. The grinder plays a key role in promoting material efficiency, reducing waste, and maintaining a clean and organized production environment. This company is looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has a great quality mindset. 

Grinder responsibilities:

• Operating regrind as indicated by work instructions, Lead Operator, Technician, and/or Supervisor
• Sort, label, and track materials by resin type, color, and lot number to ensure proper regrind use
• Maintain accurate records of material quantities processed and inventory levels
• Communication to other shifts any special instructions or quality issues 
• Inspect and clean granulating machines and surround areas to ensure proper functioning and prevent contamination
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet material specifications and reduce material loss
• Enter production data into ERP system (PLEX) 
• Maintain clean work area and assist in keeping molding department clean and orderly
• Assist in relieving other operators for breaks as needed
• Assist with material handling, including transporting scrap and regrind bins between machines and storage areas
• Follow all company safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times 

Schedule & Pay: 

• 3rd shift 10:50pm-7:05am Sunday-Thursday, able to work extra when needed
• $18.25/HR 

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to understand and complete simple one or two step instructions
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables 
• Knowledge of basic mathematical concepts 
• Ability to use a computer proficiently
