Shift Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • 6:55 AM – 2:55 PM
  • Overtime: Paid after 44 hours per week

About the Role

Express Employment Professionals (Guelph) is hiring a Shipper / Receiver for a precision manufacturing environment specializing in machined components and gear production. This role plays a critical part in supporting production by ensuring the accurate movement, tracking, and handling of raw materials and finished goods.

This position is ideal for someone experienced in manufacturing logistics, who understands the importance of accuracy, part traceability, and production flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift safely (propane), including cylinder changes
  • Load and unload trucks with raw materials and finished machined components
  • Move materials between departments (machining, finishing, assembly) to support production flow
  • Ensure all incoming materials are received, inspected, and properly documented
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including packing slips and custom paperwork
  • Accurately pick, pack, and stage precision parts for shipment
  • Verify quantities and part numbers against work orders and shipping documents
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper tagging and tracking of materials
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with internal scheduling and external carriers
  • Keep shipping/receiving and staging areas clean, organized, and production-ready
  • Support cycle counts and inventory audits
  • Communicate with production, quality, and supervision regarding material status and priorities

Qualifications

  • Certified forklift operator with safe propane handling experience
  • 2–3 years experience in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with part numbers, quantities, and documentation
  • Comfortable working with production schedules, work orders, and inventory systems
  • Good numerical and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or ERP systems is an asset
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production setting
