Machine Shop Manager

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established Spartanburg manufacturer to hire an experienced Machine Shop Manager. This direct hire, salaried position is responsible for leading daily machine shop operations, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily machine shop operations to meet production and quality goals.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 28 operators and 3 engineers.
• Maximize performance of multi-axis CNC milling, turning, and grinding equipment.
• Optimize machine setup, tooling, workflows, and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support CAD/CAM integration.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
• Manage inventory and procurement to support production requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or equivalent experience.
• Previous leadership experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, including milling, turning, and grinding.
• Experience with ERP systems, manufacturing software, and CAD/CAM tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.

Schedule & Location

• Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Additional hours as needed
• On-site in Spartanburg, SC
• Must be able to commute or relocate prior to start
