Position Overview

As the Mechanical Technologist / Project Coordinator, you will:

·       Support the design, planning, coordination, and execution of custom fabrication and industrial projects.

·       Work closely with the General Manager, Project Manager, production teams, customers, and vendors, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

·       Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD

·       Develop fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings

·       Review customer specifications and project requirements .

·       Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs) and drawing revisions

·       Assist with design improvements and manufacturing efficiencies

·       Support engineering calculations and design validation activities

·       Ensure drawings comply with applicable industry and customer standards Project Coordination

·       Assist in managing multiple fabrication and installation projects simultaneously

·       Coordinate project schedules, materials, vendors, and production timelines

·       Track project milestones and communicate updates to internal stakeholders

·       Participate in project meetings and progress reviews

·       Support procurement activities and vendor communications

·       Monitor project costs and assist with estimating activities

·       Prepare project documentation, reports, and change orders

·       Manufacturing & Shop Support

·       Collaborate closely with welders, fitters, machinists, and fabrication teams

·       Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation phases Assist with troubleshooting design and fabrication issues Client & Vendor Relations

·       Communicate with customers regarding project specifications and requirements

·       Participate in site meetings and project reviews

·       Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and customers

·       Deliver a high level of customer service throughout project execution

Required Skills and Qualifications:

·       Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or related discipline

·       2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical design, or project coordination role

·       Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD

·       Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes

·       Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications

·       Excellent communication and organizational skills

·       Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

·       Valid Ontario G Driver's License

Preferred Assets:

·       CET designation or working towards certification

·       Experience within custom steel or stainless-steel fabrication

·       Knowledge of welding, fitting, machining, and manufacturing processes

·       Familiarity with CWB standards and TSSA requirements and codes

·       Understanding of CNC machining operations

·       Estimating or project costing experience

·       Experience working within food, beverage, winery, or industrial manufacturing environments

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift Only, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000+ annually DOE
