Surface Mounting Technician - Denham Springs 

EVALUATION HIRE

$20 - 28 / hr.

Day Shift: 8 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently 

seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Surface Mounting Technician to join an electronics manufacturing team in Denham Springs, Louisiana. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining surface-mount technology (SMT) equipment used in printed circuit board (PCB) assembly, while ensuring high-quality standards and efficient production.

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES for Surface Mounting Technician: 

    • Set up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, and reflow ovens
    • Load feeders with components and verify materials against production requirements
    • Inspect PCBs for defects using visual inspection methods and automated systems
    • Perform equipment changeovers and assist with machine programming as needed
    • Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on SMT equipment
    • Maintain accurate production and quality records
    • Follow safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and quality standards
    • Coordinate with supervisors, quality, and engineering teams to resolve production issues

 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 1–3 years of SMT or electronics manufacturing experience preferred
  • Understanding of PCB assembly processes and electronic components
  • Ability to read work instructions, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Basic computer skills for equipment operation and data entry
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
  • Troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand and work on production floors for extended periods
  • Lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
