Brake Press Operator

Salary: $20-$22 per hour, DOE

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Brake Press Operator for a local manufacturing company. The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating industrial machines to bend, fold and shape sheet metal and plates according to precise design specifications.  This position may also involve general shop labor duties to support production and workflow as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine set up, selecting and installing appropriate tooling, dies and punches to meet required angles and dimensions.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical work orders to understand part specifications.
• Quality Assurance: Verify parts match specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Material Handling: Load raw metal sheets into the machine and unload finished, deburred parts.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues during production runs.
• Conduct mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts and materials.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of metal types, thicknesses, and press brake tonnage calculations.
• Technical Literacy: Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting tolerances.
• Math & Computer Skills: Ability to utilize CNC control software and perform quick arithmetic for machine setup.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 Years of manufacturing or metal fabrication experience required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Participation in Drug Test and Background Check Required
