Machine Operator – Food Processing (Cooking Experience Preferred)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our food processing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating food production equipment and a background in cooking or food preparation. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery used in food production while ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor food processing and packaging equipment safely and efficiently
• Measure, mix, cook, and process ingredients according to company recipes and production standards
• Adjust machine settings to maintain proper temperature, speed, and product consistency
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines
• Maintain accurate production and quality control records
• Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized regularly
• Monitor product quality and report any issues to supervisors
• Assist with inventory management and ingredient preparation as needed
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in food manufacturing, machine operation, or commercial cooking preferred
• Knowledge of food safety procedures and sanitation standards
• Ability to read recipes, follow instructions, and perform basic math calculations
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with industrial cooking equipment, mixers, ovens, kettles, or packaging machines
• HACCP or food safety training is a plus
• Forklift certification is a plus
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills

Work Environment

• Manufacturing or production facility environment
• Exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions
• Use of protective equipment such as gloves, hairnets, and safety gear required

Schedule

• Full-time
• Overtime and weekend availability may be required depending on production demands
