Express Employment Professionals is hiring Grain Laborers for agricultural and grain elevator facilities across Taylorville, Mt. Auburn, and Mechanicsburg, IL. Pay and Schedule

• $16-$20.00 per hour based on location and experience
• Weekly pay
• Full-time hours with overtime available
• Schedules vary by site--may include extended daily hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM) or a Monday-Sunday harvest-season schedule
• End-of-season bonus opportunity available at select locations ($0.75/hour worked, regular and overtime combined)

About the Role

As a Grain Laborer, you'll support daily grain handling and facility operations at a busy agricultural site through the fast-paced harvest season. You may assist with receiving, storing, and shipping grain, corn, and soybeans.

Responsibilities

• Open and close truck and railcar doors for grain loading and unloading
• Monitor incoming and outgoing grain, corn, and soybean shipments
• Assist with grain dumping and grain handling operations
• Cover grain piles with tarps to protect stored product
• Perform shoveling, sweeping, dust cleanup, and general housekeeping to maintain safe work areas
• Complete general facility maintenance and housekeeping
• During early harvest: mow, trim weeds, and clean grain bins and storage areas as needed
• Work from elevated platforms using required safety equipment and harnesses
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies 

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions 
• Comfortable working at heights while wearing a safety harness
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding labor
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Grain handling, agriculture, warehouse, construction, or general labor experience is helpful but not required
