Shipping & Receiving Manager

Location: ST CHARLES
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week + Overtime as Needed
Pay: Starting at $70,000+ annually, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Shipping & Receiving Manager to oversee daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and logistics operations in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage shipping and receiving functions while actively working alongside the team to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and on-time deliveries. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating freight logistics, managing outbound production shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and leading warehouse personnel in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assist a team of 2–3 shipping and receiving employees while maintaining a hands-on role in daily operations
• Coordinate outbound LTL and partial-load shipments for production schedules to ensure timely customer deliveries
• Schedule inbound and outbound freight with various transportation and freight carriers
• Communicate directly with freight companies to obtain shipping quotes, coordinate pickups/deliveries, and resolve logistics issues
• Perform administrative duties including shipping documentation, inventory records, freight paperwork, and data entry
• Verify purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and receiving documentation for accuracy
• Conduct quality checks on incoming and outgoing materials to ensure products meet company standards
• Oversee inbound and outbound receiving processes, ensuring proper material handling and inventory control
• Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts for loading, unloading, staging, and material movement throughout the facility
• Maintain organized warehouse operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
• Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate stock levels
• Work closely with production, purchasing, and management teams to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse supervision, or logistics management required
• Strong knowledge of LTL, partial-load, and freight coordination processes
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
• Sit-down and stand-up forklift experience required
• Ability to lead employees while also performing hands-on warehouse duties
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office preferred
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of inventory control, quality checks, and shipping documentation procedures
