Cook – Local High School (Temporary Through June 23)

Hours: 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
Location: Local High School
Duration: Immediate start (pending fingerprint/background) through June 23

Pay: $17.50

We are seeking a reliable Cook to support a high school cafeteria team through the end of the school year. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced kitchen, ideal for someone who works well on a team and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items for daily lunch service
• Monitor food levels and replenish as needed during service while minimizing waste toward end of lunch period
• Follow proper food safety procedures, including safe cooking temperatures for meats
• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, steamers, and pizza ovens
• Assist with extensive cleaning and kitchen closing duties as part of end-of-year shutdown
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment at all times

Qualifications

• Prior cooking or kitchen experience required
• Basic knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe or similar preferred)
• Understanding of proper meat handling and cooking temperatures
• Ability to work as part of a team in a structured environment
• Comfortable handling all types of food products, including pork and other meats
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when needed
