We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Shop Helper to join a growing fabrication and machine shop team. This is an evaluation-to-hire position, offering strong potential for long-term, permanent employment.

This role is ideal for someone looking to start or grow a career in the trades, with opportunities for skill development and wage progression over time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations in a fabrication and machine shop environment
• Support machine operators with material handling and basic setup tasks
• Perform general labour duties, including heavy lifting (40–50 lbs) and repetitive work
• Operate shop equipment such as sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Collaborate with a small, team-oriented group (approximately 7 employees)

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and motivated for long-term employment
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment
• Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or shipping environment is an asset
• Experience with manual or CNC machinery is an asset, but not required
• Willingness to learn and train across multiple shop function
