Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for Environmental Services Technicians to join a healthcare facility in Sarasota. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.

This is a physically demanding overnight position responsible for cleaning and disinfecting operating rooms, procedural areas, public spaces, and support areas throughout the facility.

Schedule

3rd Shift: 7:30 PM – 4:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed terminal cleaning of operating rooms and procedural areas
• Clean and disinfect surgical suites, pre-op areas, PACU areas, and support spaces
• Utilize hospital-grade germicidal cleaning solutions and specialty disinfecting equipment
• Clean and sanitize equipment, monitors, keyboards, screens, surgical lights, beds, stretchers, and furniture
• Transport and properly dispose of trash, recyclables, and biohazard materials
• Return equipment and supplies to designated locations for next-day operations
• Perform floor care duties including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and maintenance
• Clean public restrooms, locker rooms, lounges, offices, laboratories, and common areas
• Respond to emergency cleaning situations as needed
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, environmental services, housekeeping, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety protocols
• Reliable transportation and attendance
• Ability to work in a healthcare environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to lift and transport cleaning equipment, supplies, and waste materials
• Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and respond to urgent cleaning needs
