Human Resources Generalist

Location: Oakville

 

About the Role

 

Manufacturing client in the Oakville area is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations within a fast-paced manufacturing or operational environment.  This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, ideal for candidates looking to demonstrate their capabilities and grow into a long-term role. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and workforce operations.

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35.00/hour+, based on experience
  • Opportunity for permanent employment based on performance and business needs
  • Benefits and paid vacation offered upon permanent hire
  • Onsite, 5 days/week

 Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact; managing employee records, HR systems, payroll inputs, and reporting
  • Support full-cycle recruitment including postings, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding
  • Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues
  • Administer compensation, benefits and ensure compliance with employment legislation
  • Support health & safety programs, training, and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to HR projects, audits, and process improvements

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in HR, Business, or a related field
  • CHRP designation (or in progress) preferred
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings
  • Experience with all modules of ADP Work Force Now
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation (ESA, OHSA, AODA, Human Rights)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential information
