Express Healthcare Staffing seeks compassionate, dependable Caregivers to join our team and provide high-quality care to a special needs child on the autism spectrum. This client has difficulty with isolation and benefits from socialization and community integration to reduce possible complications in relation to her special needs’ diagnosis. Ideal candidates will be active, reliable, and have experience with special needs children. Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide companionship and one-on-one support to a special needs child on the autism spectrum

·         Perform craft and play activities in the home or community to enhance an active and enjoyable experience for the client.

·         Prepare light meals/snacks as assigned

·         Perform light housekeeping duties and ADLs as assigned

·         Ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment

 

Work Settings:

·         Private homes

·         Medical offices

·         Outdoor and community-based settings

 

Requirements:

·         1 Year experience caregiving for adults or children.

·         At least 6 months experience with mental health disorders, preferably experience with individuals diagnosed with Autism/Autism Spectrum with knowledge of behaviors and de-escalation when stimulated.

·         Individual must be self-starter and self-motivated.

·         Reliable transportation, valid registration, and valid insurance. Willing to travel in the community for outdoor activities while caring for a child.

·         Can pass a background check and has at least 2 professional references

·         Follow clear direction regarding caregiving needs and requirements as put in place by client’s guardian/parent

·         Limited use of cellphones and other electronic devices when on shift

·         Compassionate, patient, reliable, and professional demeanor
