Galvanizing Plant Material Handler  

Full Time 40-50 hrs per week

$16/hr

6:30 am to 4:00 pm. 

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently hiring for a Material Handler for a local client in East Baton Rouge.  This has the potential for a long-term position with a stable galvanizing company that offers benefits after the evaluation period. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs.
  • Rigging material and steel beams/parts.
  • Using hand tools.
  • Must follow facility safety and work procedures.
  • Standing and walking all day.

 

Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure:

  • Willing to train, experience not required. 
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Experience with hand and power tools is a plus. 
  • MUST have steel-toed boots.
  • Must have safety glasses and a hard hat.
  • Metguards are required, but the company can provide them.

Physical Demands:

  • Working in hot or cold conditions
  • Used to working outside in ambient conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly

Work Environment:

  • Industrial shop/warehouse plant
