ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a hands-on, mechanically savvy professional who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment? Express Employment Professionals is actively hiring a Terminal Operator to support a high-volume cement distribution operation right here in the Permian Basin. This is your chance to step into a critical role where your skills keep product moving, customers satisfied, and operations running at full speed. If you take ownership of your work, aren't afraid to get your hands dirty, and bring reliability to everything you do — we want to hear from you TODAY.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Take charge of loading and unloading cement from railcars and trucks — keeping product moving on time, every time

Spot and block vehicles and rail cars using a track mobile; set brakes and manage precise car positioning

Run spouts, chutes, and conveyors like a pro — directing material flow safely and efficiently

Open air valves, hopper doors, and pneumatic conveyors; dial in damper settings to hit target feed rates

Pull cement samples and stay on top of inventory — accuracy matters and you own it

Operate vibrators to keep hoppers flowing freely; physical work including lifting, crawling, and bending is part of the job

Monitor pressure gauges and make on-the-fly valve adjustments to maintain optimal pumping pressure

Keep meticulous records: car weights, volumes loaded, cars dumped and filled — no detail too small

Handle all distribution paperwork end-to-end: invoices, BOLs, CODs, weight tickets, load-out tickets, and railcar orders

Be the communication hub — coordinate with railroad contacts, truck drivers, customers, sales, and vendors to ensure on-time delivery

Keep the terminal running: maintain, repair, and replace valves, augers, air compressors, vibrators, dust collectors, hydraulic cylinders, and more

Break out the torch — welding and cutting operations are part of keeping equipment in top shape

Operate forklifts, track mobiles, and other mobile equipment with confidence

Think like an engineer: diagnose machinery issues, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement

Step in and support other terminals when operators or managers are out — flexibility is key

Champion a safe, clean work environment and lead by example on OSHA compliance every single day

QUALIFICATIONS

What You'll Need:

        High School Diploma or GED

1-year certificate from a college or technical school

3–6 years of solid, hands-on experience in product distribution and customer relations

Computer proficiency — you can navigate software and generate accurate documentation

Real mechanical ability — you don't just report problems, you solve them

Bonus Points If You Have:

Working knowledge of cement and ready-mix operations

        Familiarity with the transportation/logistics industry

Forklift certification — bring that ticket!

Track Mobile training under your belt

        OSHA / Safety training credentials

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONS

This is a physically demanding, high-activity role in a working industrial terminal. You'll need to be ready to:

Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout your shift

Stay on your feet and stay active — standing, walking, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching are all part of the day

Handle tough environmental conditions: extreme temps, dust, fumes, vibration, wet/humid settings, and mechanical and high-voltage hazard zones

Sharp senses required — visual acuity, hearing, and steady hands (grasping, fingering, feeling) are essential on the job
