Position Overview
The Group Health Benefits Specialist will play a key role in growing and managing a group benefits portfolio while delivering expert guidance on benefits administration. This position calls for a strategic thinker with strong consultative sales skills, sound judgment, and a relationship-driven mindset.
The ideal candidate is tenacious, personable, and highly organized, with the ability to assess client needs and recommend customized insurance solutions. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement creative marketing strategies to promote new insurance plans or recommend enhancements to existing coverage based on client needs.

Build strong, compassionate relationships with prospective clients through proactive networking, referrals, and marketing initiatives.

Evaluate individual and business needs using a consultative approach to design tailored group health and supplemental benefits solutions.

Collaborate with clients to create personalized risk management strategies aligned with their goals and workforce needs.

Provide weekly and quarterly progress reports to leadership, demonstrating accountability and engagement.

Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date client and policy records in a fast-paced environment.

Stay current on insurance products, industry trends, and regulatory changes through ongoing professional development.

Serve as a trusted advisor to employer groups, maintaining ongoing communication with decision-makers and HR contacts.

Conduct clear, engaging employee benefits presentations and enrollment meetings that make benefits easy to understand and accessible.

Ensure all policies, documentation, and compliance standards are met efficiently and professionally.
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in health insurance sales and/or benefits administration.

Proven experience in consultative sales with a strong client-first mindset.

Solid knowledge of group health and supplemental insurance products and benefits regulations.

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex information in an approachable, easy-to-understand manner.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing client needs.

Tech-savvy and comfortable using multiple systems and software tools efficiently.

Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

Licenses, Certifications & Other Requirements

Active Health Insurance License (required; licensure, company appointments, and continuing education must be maintained—costs are covered by the employer).

Valid Montana Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Proof of auto liability insurance in compliance with Montana state laws.

Successful completion of a background check is required.

Ability to travel locally up to 50% of the time.
