Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Distribution Operations Manager to lead and optimize all distribution center order processing and logistics operations at our company-owned warehouses. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing the full scope of warehouse management—including inbound freight, receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, reprocessing, and inventory management—in a cost-effective, efficient, and compliant manner.
The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, meet volume and financial targets, and foster a positive, high-performance work environment while ensuring exceptional customer service to retail partners.

Key Responsibilities
Business Impact & Financial Management
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly dollar and unit volume goals set by supported business units.
Minimize chargebacks by monitoring and improving distribution center practices.
Maintain or reduce cost per unit while identifying and implementing efficiency improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Ensure strict adherence to Garan Inventory Process Controls to protect financial integrity.
Recommend capital expenditures based on business volume needs.

Operational Leadership & Innovation

Manage all warehouse operations including inbound trailer flow, accurate and timely receipts, order processing, fulfillment, interplant transfers, and outbound shipping.
Ensure inventory is accurately managed at the DZ/Case and location levels to support correct order fulfillment.
Monitor and improve order processing speed to meet or exceed customer shipment requirements.
Maintain compliance with all customer, carrier, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate training for employees on policies, procedures, systems (MIS), inventory control, safety, and warehouse operations.
Support training initiatives at other 3PL facilities as needed.
Spearhead the processing and integration of new products into the distribution center.
Run the facility in the absence of the Facility Manager.

People Leadership & Team Development

Lead, motivate, and develop all distribution center staff, including management personnel.
Hold weekly update meetings with staff to review volume projections, shipping/receiving performance, rework, inventory control, and operational issues.
Implement system enhancements and ensure local staff follows established warehouse procedures.
Promote a positive work environment that balances employee morale with company values and customer needs.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Production, Customer Service, Finance, Imports, Credit/Chargebacks, and Risk Management.
Coordinate with carriers and consolidators to ensure high service levels.
Communicate effectively with retail partners (primarily Logistics departments) to guarantee orders are processed and shipped to their expectations.


Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in distribution center or warehouse management, preferably in a multi-shift, high-volume environment.
Strong track record of meeting volume targets, controlling costs, and improving operational efficiency.
Experience with inventory management systems, process controls, and compliance standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to shifting priorities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
