Maintenance Technician – Automation & Controls

Location: Lodi, CA

Pay: $23–$27/hr (DOE)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

A well-established manufacturing company in Lodi, CA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician – Automation & Controls to support their production and automation operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical troubleshooting skills, robotics experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician will oversee in-house automation and robotics, perform machine setup and changeovers, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues. Candidates should be comfortable working with VFDs, reading electrical schematics, and supporting automation improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Lock-Out/Tag-Out compliance during routine and special repairs

• Document startup processes and mechanical/electrical system designs

• Install and drop new electrical wiring for machinery

• Troubleshoot automation systems, robotics, and workflow issues

• Support and launch in-house automation projects

• Train associates on automation equipment

• Develop troubleshooting guides for machinery

• Stop production when safety, quality, or equipment concerns arise

• Perform additional duties as assigned by engineering leadership

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience

• Electrical and/or PLC certification preferred

• Experience with electrical repairs & wiring (3-Phase 480VAC, 120VAC)

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Robotic troubleshooting experience (FANUC, Kawasaki) is a plus

• Ability to read and interpret electrical & mechanical drawings

• Strong troubleshooting, time management, and organizational skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs

• Use of hands, tools, and fine motor skills

• Full range of vision including depth and color perception

Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with consistent noise (hearing protection required)

• Safety glasses required at all times

• Exposure to dust, grease, machinery, and moving parts

• Must remain aware of pinch points and mechanical hazards
