We are currently conducting a direct hire search for a Distribution Center Operations Manager for a client, a consumer products company located in Beloit.

Overview:

The Distribution Center / Operations Manager is responsible for the end-to-end
management of warehouse and fulfillment operations, outbound transportation, and the
people and processes that drive on-time, accurate order delivery. This leader ensures
that daily operations run efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with the company's
service commitments and financial objectives. Reporting to senior leadership, this role is
a key driver of operational excellence across the supply chain.

 

Duties:

 

• Oversee all inbound receiving, put-away, pick/pack, and outbound shipping
  operations to ensure accuracy, speed, and compliance with customer
  requirements. 
• Establish, monitor, and continuously improve KPIs including order fill rate, pick
  accuracy, on-time shipment, inventory accuracy.
• Maintain optimal warehouse layout and slotting strategies to maximize space
  utilization and labor efficiency.
• Develop and ensure compliance with safety regulations, housekeeping
  standards, and company SOPs.
• Lead cycle count and physical inventory programs; partner with finance to
  reconcile shrink and inventory variances.
• Manage WMS (Warehouse Management System) usage and data integrity;
  identify system improvements and automation opportunities.
• Manage carrier relationships including LTL, FTL, parcel (UPS, FedEx, Amazon),
  and any 3PL or brokerage partners.
• Oversee freight routing and compliance to ensure adherence to customer routing
  guides and EDI requirements.
• Monitor and reduce freight costs, chargebacks, and claims, drive accountability
  across internal and external partners.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in distribution center, warehouse or supply chain operations management or leadership.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, freight/carrier management, and transportation compliance (routing guides, EDI, chargebacks)
• Experience with WMS platforms (NetSuite WMS preferred)
• Ability to navigate effectively through Microsoft Word, Outlook and ERP
  
• Preferred:
  • Experience in consumer products or seasonal goods industry
  • Familiarity with Amazon Vendor Central / 1P fulfillment requirements

Schedule: This role is full-time salary exempt, office hours.  Hybrid potential with one day WFH based on business need.

 

Comp: Base $80 - $100k depending experience, plus bonus potential
