Mig Welder
1st Shift 7:00am-3:30pm EST (Mon-Fri)
$17.50 hour + based on experience
Key Responsitbilities:
Perform MIG Welding on Enclosures and Frames
Weld structural and sheet metal components for power modules, genset enclosures, chiller housings, boiler casings, and switchgear cabinets.
Ensure welds meet strength and durability requirements for industrial-grade applications.
Set Up and Operate Welding Equipment
Configure and maintain MIG welding machines, adjusting voltage, wire speed, and gas flow for optimal performance.
Use different welding techniques based on material thickness (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum).
Interpret Blueprints and Technical Drawings
Read and follow detailed fabrication blueprints and engineering specifications to ensure accuracy in welding and assembly.
Work with engineers and fabricators to resolve design challenges.
Material Preparation and Handling
Cut, grind, and clean metal surfaces before welding to ensure strong and clean welds.
Position, align, and secure components using clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
Quality Control and Inspections
Inspect completed welds for defects such as porosity, undercutting, and improper penetration.
Conduct tests and visual inspections to ensure compliance with industry and company standards.
Weld Finishing and Assembly Support
Grind and polish welds to ensure smooth finishes, as required for enclosures and structural components.
Assist in the assembly of completed modules, ensuring structural integrity and proper fit.
Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards
Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and proper PPE usage to prevent accidents.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Troubleshoot Welding and Fabrication Issues
Identify and repair welding defects or inconsistencies in production.
Work with supervisors and quality control teams to implement process improvements.
Collaborate with Other Departments
Work closely with fabricators, assemblers, and engineers to meet production goals and deadlines.
Communicate issues or required adjustments to ensure a smooth workflow.
Perform Routine Equipment Maintenance
Clean, inspect, and maintain welding machines and tools to ensure longevity and performance.
Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to maintenance personnel.
