Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and motivated Elevator Operator to join our production team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily grain handling and production operations while assisting the Machine Operator II as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout assigned work areas.
  • Operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on production and grain-handling equipment.
  • Load and unload tandem trucks at elevator and storage facilities.
  • Monitor grain storage bins and equipment to ensure smooth operation and product flow.
  • Package sunflower products into 25–50 lb. bags in a continuous production environment.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Accurately complete production records, inventory documentation, and other required paperwork.
  • Assist with training team members and learning Machine Operator II responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and team members across departments.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide support and leadership in the absence of the Machine Operator II when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, or a production environment.
  • Basic math, computer, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Forklift operating experience or the ability to become certified.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Preferred:

  • Two or more years of experience in agricultural processing, grain handling, or food manufacturing.
  • Experience operating or working with:
    • Color sorters
    • Gravity tables
    • Destoners
    • Electronic scales
    • Packaging, filling, and sewing equipment
    • Tandem trucks

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Climb stairs and ladders as needed.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Work in a production environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled facilities, including hot and cold conditions.
