Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist for a temporary opportunity in Wilsonville, Oregon. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and administer environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Create and maintain procedures related to chemical safety, ergonomics, injury and illness prevention, and building safety
• Promote a safe and healthy workplace for employees and visitors while supporting overall business objectives
• Design and deliver employee training programs, including:
• Compliance training
• Hazardous material and waste handling
• Emergency response procedures
• Industrial hygiene and occupational safety
• Maintain safety equipment inventory and perform routine inspections across lab, plant, and office environments
• Conduct audits, environmental impact studies, and safety assessments; recommend corrective actions as needed
• Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and analyze safety data
• Serve as a point of contact for external regulatory agencies and emergency response personnel
• Review new products, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and recommend improvements prior to implementation

Additional Responsibilities

• Support implementation of established EHS policies and procedures aligned with business goals
• May assist in representing the organization with external agencies
• Participate in or support the administration of workers’ compensation programs

Qualifications & Knowledge

• Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety principles and regulations
• Ability to interpret scientific concepts and regulatory requirements
• Experience applying safety practices to resolve routine issues and support compliance efforts
• Familiarity with standard EHS tools, procedures, and best practices
