We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and fluid inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic system issues.
  • Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, suspensions, fuel systems, and related components.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns.
  • Complete DOT inspections and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, hand tools, power tools, and specialized repair equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and work orders.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations when needed.
  • Communicate equipment status and repair recommendations to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with parts inventory and ordering as needed.

QualificationsRequired

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of diesel mechanic experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance records and work order management.

Preferred

  • ASE certifications.
  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
  • Experience working on medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and heavy equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and shop conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
