CAD Table Operator

Located in Billerica, MA

Salary: $22 to $25 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Table Operator to join our custom packaging and foam fabrication team. This position is responsible for programming and operating CAD cutting tables, including Kongsberg systems, to produce precision-cut foam and corrugated packaging components.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with CAD software, digital cutting equipment, and various packaging materials, including polyethylene (PE) foam, polyurethane (PU) foam, corrugated board, and other protective packaging materials.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain multiple CAD cutting tables, including Kongsberg and similar CNC cutting systems.
• Create, modify, and optimize cutting programs using CAD/CAM software.
• Interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and production work orders.
• Produce custom foam inserts, cushioning components, corrugated packaging, and protective packaging solutions.
• Set up machine tooling, cutting heads, routing tools, and hold-down systems
• Verify material dimensions, specifications, and quality prior to production.
• Perform first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot programming or operational issues.
• Manage production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and production goals.
• Maintain accurate production records and material usage reports.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating CAD cutting tables, CNC cutting equipment, or similar manufacturing machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing software systems.

Preferred Experience 

• Experience in custom packaging, crating, foam fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of packaging design principles and material characteristics.
• Experience with CAD software such as ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, Esko, or similar
• Prior work with Kongsberg cutting systems
• Experience working with PE foam, PU foam, corrugated materials, and protective packaging products
