Logistics Broker

Located in Columbus, MS

Logistics Broker position geared towards sales. This candidate must be willing to get out and find new business lanes during some of the work week. The other responsivities include working in direct support of daily sales, and customer service activities. They will also be responsible to schedule and coordinate transportation for shipments across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico for multiple transportation platforms i.e. flat bed, truckload, expedite. It is a very fast-paced role and requires both strong interpersonal skills and organization to be successful.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*       Bringing in new customers with direct sales and building outside carrier base
*       Work in direct support of our customers' transportation needs and cover available loads
*       Master the daily management and support of customer freight and partner carriers.
*       Daily scheduling and price negotiation with our partner carriers.
*       Relationship development across our partner carrier base of both approved and new carriers.
*       Track and trace all loads. Updates customers with eta's regarding every load
*       Prompt updates to the customer and internal team with any carrier issues.
*       Posting freight on internet freight boards and vetting of new partner carriers.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
*       Dispatch experience
*       Brokerage experience
*       Sales experience preferred (inside/outside sales)
*       Professional Customer Service experience is a strong plus
*       Experience in the logistics/transportation industry is a strong plus
*       The ability to bring a developed and current book of business
