Accounting Specialist

Location: McAllen, TX
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour (DOE)

 

 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in McAllen, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of accounting experience and be proficient in managing financial records, preparing reports, and supporting daily accounting operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience using QuickBooks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Process and maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports.
• Conduct cost and profit analysis to support business decisions.
• Prepare Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
• Generate and maintain Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reports.
• Prepare and submit monthly tax reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records using QuickBooks.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support additional accounting and administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience with cost accounting and inventory-related reporting is a plus.
