HVAC Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused HVAC Technician to join a growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring safe and efficient system operation. HVAC technicians typically install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating and cooling systems while providing quality service to homeowners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, and indoor air quality equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and system inspections to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Install HVAC equipment, components, controls, and related accessories according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
• Test system performance and verify proper operation following repairs and installations.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance requirements, repair options, and equipment replacement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, EPA regulations, and company standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and manage inventory of tools and parts.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency service requests as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential HVAC service experience preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, refrigerant handling, and HVAC controls.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• NATE Certification or other industry certifications.
• Experience with heat pumps, ductless systems, and indoor air quality products.
• Sales aptitude and ability to identify customer solutions and replacement opportunities.
