Part Time Customer Service Representative (CSR) –

 

 

Position Summary

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as the first point of contact for customers and is responsible for providing exceptional service while processing garment orders accurately and efficiently. The CSR greets customers, receives and tags garments, operates the point-of-sale system, handles payments, resolves customer concerns, and ensures a positive customer experience from drop-off to pickup.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Receive garments and household items for cleaning and processing.
  • Inspect incoming items for stains, damage, missing buttons, tears, or special care requirements.
  • Accurately tag, ticket, and track customer orders.
  • Enter customer information and order details into the POS system.
  • Explain services, pricing, turnaround times, and promotions.
  • Process customer payments, issue receipts, and balance cash drawer.
  • Retrieve completed orders and verify items before releasing them to customers.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Address customer concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter and customer areas.
  • Assist with garment assembly, bagging, and quality checks as needed.
  • Promote loyalty programs and additional services.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or dry-cleaning experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system knowledge.
  • Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and handling garments.
  • Ability to work in a busy retail environment.

Work Environment

  • Dry cleaning retail storefront.
  • Frequent interaction with customers.
  • Fast-paced environment during peak drop-off and pickup times.
  • Exposure to garment processing areas and production operations.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in dry cleaning, laundry services, or retail operations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Familiarity with garment care and fabric types.
