Maintenance Planner

Position Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Planner to coordinate and support maintenance activities that maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency. This role is responsible for planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance while also performing hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment and facility systems.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to balance planning responsibilities with hands-on technical work.

Pay: $30 - $35 per hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with production to minimize downtime

  • Create, manage, and track work orders through the maintenance management system

  • Ensure necessary parts, tools, and labor are available before scheduled work begins

  • Maintain preventive maintenance programs and equipment maintenance records

  • Track equipment performance, maintenance history, and downtime trends

  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts

  • Follow all safety policies and maintenance procedures

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility systems

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues

  • Repair or replace motors, pumps, valves, sensors, heaters, controls, and other equipment components

  • Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and changeovers as needed

  • Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance tasks

  • Ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently

Parts & Inventory Management

  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory for production and support equipment

  • Identify and order replacement parts, supplies, and maintenance materials

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to support maintenance activities and equipment repairs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or a related field preferred

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and work order systems preferred

  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

  • Injection molding, blow molding, or plastics manufacturing equipment

  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software

  • Root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Spare parts inventory management

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday

  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and machinery

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment

  • Occasional exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial conditions

  • Must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
