Manual Machinist / Manufacturing Specialist

 

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Spartanburg, SC that is seeking a Manual Machinist / Manufacturing Specialist to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with machine shop experience who is looking to develop additional skills in a unique manufacturing environment.

 

Pay: Starting at $20.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (30 minute paid lunch)
Location: Spartanburg, SC

Environment: This is a dirty machine shop environment. If you are not ok with getting dirty, this position is not for you. 

 

Responsibilities:
• Perform basic manual machining operations and manufacturing support tasks
• Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Read and interpret basic shop drawings and use measuring tools such as calipers
• Assist with production activities and cross-train in multiple departments
• Work independently while contributing to a small team environment
• Maintain quality standards and follow established procedures

 

Qualifications:
• Previous manual machining experience preferred
• Experience with surface grinders, lathes, mills, or CNC equipment is a plus
• Ability to read basic shop prints and use measuring instruments
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Willingness to learn, cross-train, and grow within the organization

 

You are encouraged to consider this position if you have ever used a manual machine in a machine shop setting. (The tolerances they work with are loose.) Even if you don't have a great deal of experience, the client is willing to train you.
