Welder I / Grinder

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Welder I / Grinder to support production and custom fabrication projects. This role involves material preparation, grinding, basic fit-up, assisting with welding and fabrication, and producing quality work while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Location: St. Louis, MO

Pay: $20 - $30 per hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and specifications
  • Perform grinding, sanding, deburring, polishing, and material preparation
  • Assist with fit-up, fabrication, welding, and assembly operations
  • Operate grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and prepare weldments for finishing and inspection
  • Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Support production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, grinding, or welding experience preferred
  • Basic MIG welding experience preferred
  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and technical drawings preferred
  • Experience using grinders, saws, and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
  • Ability to lift materials and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Willingness to learn welding and fabrication processes
  • High school diploma or technical training preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Grinding and finishing weldments
  • Material preparation and part cleaning
  • Fabrication or manufacturing environment experience
  • Working with carbon steel and aluminum
  • Forklift and/or crane operation
