Machinist / Welder

Pay: $28-$31 per hour / DOE

Monday-Friday / 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

 

We are seeking an experienced Machinist / Welder to join a fast-paced R&D machine shop environment focused on building prototype and test components for industrial equipment applications. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in custom fabrication, machining, and problem-solving within a manufacturing setting.

Machinist / Welder Responsibilities:

• Set up, fabricate, and assemble prototype parts based on engineering drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions
• Perform machining operations using manual mills and lathes
• Complete MIG welding on aluminum and steel materials
• Operate shop tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with cutting, grinding, fitting, and finishing fabricated parts
• Handle heavy materials and support testing or prototype builds as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
• Machinist / Welder Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of machining experience using manual mills/lathes
• Minimum 3 years of MIG welding experience with aluminum and steel
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and welding standards/specifications
• Experience in custom fabrication and prototype assembly
• Ability to operate general shop equipment, including:
  • Sit-down forklifts
  • Manual torch cutter/welder
  • Plasma cutting equipment
  • Drill presses
  • Band saws
  • Grinders
  • Hand tools

Preferred Skills

• Certification in machining or welding preferred
• Proof of training required
• Experience with hydraulics or truck mechanics is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Must wear safety shoes and bring some personal hand tools
