Warehouse Lead

Located in Madison, WI

Salary: $21/hr

Express Employment Professionals is now hiring for a Warehouse Lead to join a growing distribution team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys leading by example and working alongside their team in a fast-paced environment.

As the Warehouse Lead, you will oversee a small team of 3–6 associates while actively participating in daily warehouse operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing team guidance with physical warehouse work throughout the day.

Pay: $21/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, and support a team of 3–6 case pickers.
• Provide direction to team members to ensure productivity and accuracy goals are met.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including:
  • Order picking
  • Loading and unloading shipments
  • Receiving inventory
  • Put-away activities
• Work alongside team members to complete daily case-picking responsibilities.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
• Support supervisors in researching and resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while meeting production expectations.

Qualifications:

• Previous warehouse experience required.
• Prior leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Comfortable working in a physically active environment throughout the entire shift.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.
• Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse management systems is a plus.
• Stand-up forklift experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the warehouse.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
