Forklift Driver/Labourer
Located in Sarnia, ON
Salary: $19.50/Hour
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver/Labourer to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for the efficient movement and management of inventory within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, be comfortable operating various warehouse equipment, and have a proactive approach to safety and productivity. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with potential for growth and skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers safely and efficiently to move goods throughout the warehouse
- Assist with order picking, packing, and staging products for shipment
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate warehouse equipment
- Perform heavy lifting as required to handle products and materials
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are met
- Support warehouse organization by maintaining clean and orderly work areas
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers in a warehouse environment
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking processes
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures
- Basic understanding of warehouse distribution operations
- Prior experience in order picking and warehouse labor tasks is preferred
- Valid certification for forklift operation is required or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
