Position Overview

The Yardman supports daily operations in a busy lumberyard and warehouse environment. This role involves assembling lumber packages, assisting customers, maintaining inventory, and supporting the production of pre‑fabricated building components. This is a hands‑on, outdoor position with long‑term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble lumber packages to fulfill customer orders

• Maintain and organize inventory in the lumberyard and warehouse

• Assist customers with loading building materials in all weather conditions

• Unload freight from vendors and distributors

• Maintain and log equipment repairs

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines

• Perform duties related to pre‑fabricated wall panels, floor trusses, and wall trusses (highly preferred but not required)

• Support team members with additional tasks as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and follow customer orders accurately

• Strong math skills for measurements and order assembly

• High level of organization and attention to detail

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 80 lbs

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

• HS Diploma or GED preferred

• Must pass a 5‑panel drug test

• Experience with forklifts, trucks, or delivery equipment is helpful

• Local travel up to 100 miles may be required
