Die Setter

We are seeking an experienced Die Setter to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for safely setting, changing, troubleshooting, and maintaining dies within stamping or press operations while supporting production efficiency, quality, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with large presses and tooling, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform die changes and setups on stamping or production presses
• Safely install, align, and secure dies using overhead cranes, forklifts, die carts, or other material handling equipment
• Adjust presses and tooling to ensure proper production operation
• Troubleshoot setup, tooling, or production issues to minimize downtime
• Verify first-piece quality and ensure parts meet specifications
• Perform routine inspections of dies, tooling, and equipment
• Work closely with operators, supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams
• Maintain production schedules while following safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements
• Complete setup documentation and production records as required
• Maintain clean and organized work areas

Qualifications

• Previous die setting or press setup experience preferred
• Experience working with stamping presses, progressive dies, transfer dies, or production tooling
• Ability to read blueprints, setup sheets, or production documentation
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges preferred
• Forklift, overhead crane, or die handling experience is a plus
• Ability to safely work around large industrial equipment and heavy tooling
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed
