Customer Service Clerk

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Customer Service Clerk to join our client's wholesale customer service team in a call center environment. This is an expansion position designed to strengthen the existing customer service department through succession planning. You'll be responsible for processing orders for our product line while delivering exceptional service to our dealer network.

What You'll Do

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process customer orders via phone, email, and fax
  • Communicate with customers regarding orders, returns, shipments, and product information
  • Proactively contact customers about shipment delays or information needed to process orders
  • Modify or cancel orders and backorders as needed
  • Coordinate with carriers to initiate shipment tracers
  • Research and submit requests for stock availability
  • Process replacement part orders and error corrections (shortages, wrong items shipped)
  • Prepare quotes for dealers and government agencies
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries from company website, ensuring timely responses
  • Recommend products and solicit sales opportunities with dealers
  • Process credits, re-bills, freight refunds, and claims
  • Maintain documentation libraries and update relevant personnel on product changes

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with customer service software (BC experience preferred)
  • Strong computer skills including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Comfortable with standard office technology
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

  • Communication: Clear, concise verbal and written communication; active listening skills; ability to organize and deliver information effectively
  • Collaboration: Team-oriented approach; ability to build strong partnerships across departments; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability: Flexible and able to adjust to changes while maintaining focus on objectives
  • Quality Focus: High performance standards with meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness

Preferred:

  • Product knowledge in our industry (highly desired)

Work Environment

  • Full-time, on-site position (not hybrid)
  • Fast-paced call center environment
  • Must be at workstation and ready to answer calls by 8:00 AM
  • Non-supervisory role
