Inside Sales Representative

Position Summary
The Inside Sales Representative is the frontline connection between Company and its customers, distributors, and OEM partners. This role balances proactive account development with responsive customer service — supporting both existing relationships and new business opportunities across Company’ full product line of Solid-State AC Motor Controls, Soft Starters, and Motor Protection products. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to build product knowledge in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing sales environment. No prior motor control experience is required; a willingness to learn the technology and a customer-first attitude are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service & Order Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, distributors, and independent sales representatives via phone and email.
- Receive, process, and confirm customer orders accurately to be able to have them entered into the ERP system; coordinate with production planning, shipping, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
- Provide customers with pricing, lead times, stock availability, and order status updates in a timely and professional manner.
- Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and discrepancies promptly; escalate technical or complex issues to the appropriate inside staff or outside sales team.
- Assist in processing return merchandise authorizations (RMAs), credits, and order modifications in accordance with company policy.
- Contribute information to maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, order history, and activity logs in the CRM system.
Account Development & New Business
- Proactively contact assigned and prospective accounts to introduce Company products, identify opportunities, and grow revenue within the existing customer base.
- Follow up on inbound leads, marketing campaigns, trade show contacts, and referrals to qualify opportunities and convert them to orders.
- Support outside sales representatives and manufacturer’s reps by providing quotes, product information, and customer follow-up to help close business.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts and bring them to the attention of the sales team.
- Assist in onboarding new distributor and OEM accounts; build relationships that support long-term growth.
Quoting & Product Support
- Prepare and issue price quotations for standard Company products based on customer specifications and current pricing guidelines.
- Develop growing familiarity with Company’ product catalog including Soft Starters, Solid-State reduced voltage starters, and motor protection devices to support basic product selection for customers.
- Coordinate with inside sales engineers for complex or custom product configurations requiring technical review.
- Track open quotes and follow up with customers to support conversion and closure.
Reporting & Administration
- Generate and distribute sales reports, order status summaries, and account activity reports as requested.
- Participate in team sales meetings, product training sessions, and continuous learning programs.
- Support sales management with special projects, market research, and customer outreach initiatives as assigned.
- Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and professional standards in all customer interactions.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or sales support — preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical products environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional phone presence and email etiquette.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with CRM and ERP systems a plus.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Positive, customer-first attitude with a genuine eagerness to learn Company’ products and industry.
- Reliable, punctual, and team oriented.
Preferred
- Experience in industrial electrical, automation, motor controls, or power electronics sales or customer service.
- Familiarity with distributor or OEM sales channels.
- Experience with ERP order entry systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Basic understanding of electric motors, drives, soft starters, or related industrial products.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience; target range $22.00–$28.00 hour to start. Upon full-time hire, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office-based at Company’ Clearwater, FL headquarters; occasional visits to the production floor.
- Fast-paced, high-volume sales environment with frequent customer interaction via phone and email.
- This is not a remote position. Monday to Friday.
