Express Employment Professionals is currently hiring for Bulk-Wafio (BCOW) Machine Operator / Set-Up Technicians for a local company in Poplar Bluff, MO. This is a high-volume, hands-on manufacturing role focused on the mass production of steel nails and wire products in a fast-paced industrial environment.

This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and the endurance to thrive in a heavy manufacturing setting.

Position Overview

As a BCOW Machine Operator / Set-Up Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining industrial nail-making and wire production equipment. Your primary focus will be keeping production running efficiently while meeting strict output and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Adjustments

• Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and equipment calibrations
• Adjust and fine-tune machines to meet precise production specifications
• Ensure continuous and efficient operation of high-volume production lines

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime
• Clear wire or plastic strip jams and restore machine operation
• Perform basic preventative maintenance as needed

Quality Control

• Inspect nails and wire coils for accuracy and quality standards
• Conduct frequent measurements using precision tools
• Ensure finished products meet all required specifications

Production Support

• Maintain consistent production pace and meet shift quotas
• Work efficiently while maintaining a safe and organized workspace
• Support continuous operation of heavy-duty industrial equipment

Qualifications & Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Experience with hand tools and power tools required
• Ability to read tape measures accurately down to fractions
• Experience using calipers and micrometers preferred
• Ability to work in a heavy industrial, non-climate-controlled environment
• Physically able to stand, bend, and work 10–12 hour shifts
• Ability to lift and move materials frequently up to 50+ lbs
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
