CNC Supervisor | St. Louis, MO

We are seeking an experienced CNC Supervisor to lead daily machining operations within our fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing CNC machinists, setup personnel, machine operators, production schedules, quality standards, and overall shop performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, hands-on machining knowledge, and experience supporting high-volume precision manufacturing operations.

Pay: $25 - $35 per hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the CNC machining department including operators, setup machinists, and production personnel
  • Ensure production schedules and customer deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards
  • Support and troubleshoot CNC lathes, mills, screw machines, and related machining equipment
  • Assist with machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and process improvements when needed
  • Monitor machine efficiency, scrap rates, downtime, and overall production performance
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, GD&T, and machining specifications
  • Ensure all parts meet quality standards using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and comparators
  • Train, mentor, and develop machinists and machine operators
  • Coordinate workflow between production, quality, maintenance, and management teams
  • Enforce all safety procedures, company policies, and housekeeping standards
  • Assist with scheduling manpower, prioritizing jobs, and maintaining efficient shop operations

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC supervisory, lead, or management experience in a machining or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong background with CNC machining, setups, tooling, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with CNC lathes, mills, Swiss machines, or screw machines preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand tight-tolerance machining requirements
  • Knowledge of precision measuring equipment and quality inspection processes
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Experience improving efficiency, reducing scrap, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives is a plus
