Health & Safety Coordinator (Temporary to Potential Permanent)

Position Overview

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Mississauga area, is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team on a temporary basis. This position offers a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent role, depending on business needs and individual performance.

• Full-time, onsite role (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and ongoing management of health and safety programs within a manufacturing environment
• Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations
• Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety legislation, company policies, and procedures
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries; document findings and assist with corrective actions
• Deliver safety training, employee orientations, and awareness programs
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation
• Collaborate with supervisors and leadership to foster a strong safety culture
• Monitor and enforce safe work practices on the production floor
• Assist with internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety

 

 

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety and current H&S certifications
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Health & Safety role
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid G driver’s license with reliable transportation (travel between 3 local sites required)
