Position Overview

Our client, a manufacturer in the Mississauga area, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.

This role supports the design, development, and production of custom-engineered products used across a variety of commercial applications. The ideal candidate is hands-on, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies
• Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Collaborate closely with production teams to support manufacturing and ensure design accuracy
• Participate in hands-on fabrication and assembly activities as needed
• Support prototyping, testing, and product validation initiatives
• Prepare engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
• Troubleshoot design and production issues directly on the shop floor
• Work with suppliers to source materials and components
• Contribute to continuous improvement by optimizing product performance, durability, and cost

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, preferred
• 0-2 years of experience (co-op or internship experience considered an asset)
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., fabrication, assembly)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
