Express Employment Professionals of Baton Rouge, LA is currently seeking candidates for a Utility Pipe Layer/Installer (DIRECT HIRE) position with a local construction company.

Job Type: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Overtime Offered)
Salary: $20/27 hour DOE

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Utility Pipe Layer/Installer to join our construction team. This position will focus on underground utility installation including water lines, sewer lines, fire hydrants, and water valves. The ideal candidate will have previous utility or construction experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work safely and professionally on job sites throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. WILL NEED RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION. Candidates should be reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in outdoor construction environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install water lines, sewer lines, water valves, and fire hydrants according to project specifications
• Assist with underground utility installation and site preparation
• Read and follow blueprints, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions
• Work alongside equipment operators and utility crews to complete projects safely and efficiently
• Perform trench work, pipe laying, and utility connections in various construction environments
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and job site regulations
• Assist with general construction labor duties as needed on-site
• Travel to job sites throughout Louisiana and Mississippi as required
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while representing the company professionally on job sites

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of heavy equipment operator experience required
• Experience operating excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment
• Previous utility work experience required, including underground utilities and site work
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a construction environment
• Strong understanding of equipment operation, grading, trenching, and excavation
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record preferred
• Ability to work well with a crew and follow supervisor instructions
• Must maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and job site procedures
