In this role, you will assemble and install mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to build high-quality street sweepers while ensuring each unit meets company quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare chassis frames for the installation and mounting of sweeper bodies.
• Install, route, connect, and test hydraulic and fluid systems to ensure proper operation.
• Build and install electrical wiring, harnesses, lighting systems, and related components.
• Mount couplings, fittings, brackets, and hardware to integrate the sweeper body with the chassis.
• Fabricate and modify parts to support custom equipment builds and customer specifications.
• Perform operational testing and quality inspections to ensure finished units meet Johnston manufacturing standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues as needed to ensure product quality.
• Safely operate hand and power tools, measuring equipment, and shop machinery.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, fabrication, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems is a plus.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
