Sales Associate

Salary: $16-18/hour

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a local Waterloo company to search for a Sales Associate to join their team! 

Schedule: Monday-Saturday schedule, first and second shift hours

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with buying, selling, and pawn transactions
• Evaluate and price merchandise based on market value and store guidelines
• Explain loan terms, repayment policies, and store procedures clearly to customers
• Operate cash registers and process payments accurately
• Maintain organized and attractive sales displays
• Inspect merchandise for authenticity and condition
• Build positive relationships with repeat customers
• Monitor inventory and assist with stocking merchandise
• Ensure compliance with company policies and local/state regulations
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and secure store environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous retail, sales, customer service, or pawn shop experience is a plus
• Basic knowledge of electronics, jewelry, musical instruments, tools, or collectibles preferred
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Ability to multitask and handle cash responsibly
• Comfortable working with diverse customers and merchandise
• Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system skills
• Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed
