Summary A Cemetery Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of cemetery grounds. This role ensures that the property remains a respectful, serene environment for families and visitors. The position involves landscaping, grounds maintenance, and assisting with burial site preparation.
Landscaping & Grounds Care — Perform mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, weeding, mulching, and planting to maintain a well-kept and serene environment.
Property Maintenance — Maintain walkways, roads, irrigation systems, and landscaped areas; remove debris, trash, and fallen branches.
Equipment Operation — Safely operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, backhoes, and other landscaping equipment.
Safety & Compliance — Follow all safety procedures, maintain equipment, and ensure grounds meet cemetery standards and regulations.
Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, cemetery maintenance, or related outdoor labor
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a dignified environment
Comfort working in a cemetery setting with professionalism and respect
This role is primarily outdoors and involves consistent physical activity. Groundskeepers play a vital role in preserving the peaceful, respectful atmosphere of the cemetery and ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standards.
