About The Opportunity

Our client is a growing construction and landscaping company seeking an experienced Skid Steer Operator to join their team on active residential and commercial job sites.

We are looking for candidates with previous experience operating skid steers with traditional foot/pedal controls in construction or landscaping environments.

Successful candidates will understand grading, excavation support, material movement, and safe equipment operation on active sites with varying terrain and conditions.

The ideal candidate is confident operating equipment independently, understands site flow, and can safely and efficiently complete tasks without constant direction.

Wage:

Up to $28.00 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing

• Safely operate skid steer equipment using traditional foot/pedal controls
• Perform grading, leveling, backfilling, excavation support, trenching, and site preparation
• Load, move, distribute, and transport aggregate, soil, stone, construction materials, and debris
• Operate skid steer attachments such as buckets, forks, augers, landscape rakes, and trenchers as required
• Assist with landscaping, hardscaping, excavation, and general construction site operations
• Work safely around labourers, tradespeople, utilities, structures, and active equipment
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance checks
• Identify and report equipment issues, wear, or safety concerns immediately
• Maintain awareness of ground conditions, elevations, and safe operating clearances
• Support crews with general site duties when equipment operation is not required
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience operating skid steers with foot/pedal controls is required
• Strong understanding of grading, site prep, excavation support, and material handling
• Experience working on construction, landscaping, excavation, or civil job sites
• Ability to operate equipment smoothly, safely, and efficiently in tight spaces and varying terrain
• Comfortable working around active crews, underground services, and changing site conditions
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to recognize basic equipment or hydraulic issues
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with site supervisors and crews
• Strong awareness of construction site safety procedures and protocols
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation considered a strong asset

Requirements:

• Previous skid steer operating experience required
• Experience with pedal-controlled skid steers required
• CSA-approved safety boots required
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to perform physically demanding work when assisting crews on site
• Reliable transportation to and from work sites
