Yard Dog/Mule Driver - $16.00/HOUR

A company in Santa Teresa needs a Yard Dog/Mule Driver. A Yard Dog/Mule Driver is responsible for moving trailers and equipment safely and efficiently within a warehouse, distribution center, or industrial yard. This position supports shipping and receiving operations by organizing trailer placement and ensuring timely movement of freight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from loading docks, parking areas, and designated yard locations.
• Perform daily inspections of yard trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Communicate with warehouse personnel, dispatchers, and drivers regarding trailer locations and dock assignments.
• Ensure trailers are secured and properly positioned for loading and unloading.
• Maintain accurate logs of trailer movements and yard activity.
• Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations.
• Report equipment damage, maintenance needs, or safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with basic warehouse or loading duties when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience operating a yard mule, terminal tractor, or similar equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work flexible schedules, including nights or weekends if required.
